With such a mild winter, we've had broccoli growing since September - picked a nice bunch this afternoon to make chickpea & broccoli salad. Cilantro is growing really well out there, too - so put a bunch of that in. Just fry some peppers with cumin and garlic, add the broccoli (which cooks very quickly!) add a splash of lemon, some sunflower seeds, throw in a bowl add a little olive oil, salt & pepper to taste. I had some roasted yams, so added them for colour. Looking forward to lunchtime tomorrow!
I have been able to have broccoli in the garden as well with these milder temperatures. I cover them when the night goes below freezing. They are doing well and have doubled in size since November.
