New Year's Wish

I have not been blogging very much over the last few months, mostly due to the fact that there are very few veggies in the garden patch right now! I do still have leeks, arugula, and a tough kale plant - I tried growing some Brussels sprouts, but they fell over and although the sprouts formed, they opened up. Winter gardening is not my forte. 2010 was the year I expanded the garden patch and tried growing more beans and grains with a modest level of success. My gardening goals for 2011 are growing carrots in raised beds, trying melons and producing enough food to make more preserves/ give away. Already perusing the garden catalogues, I see red celery and all sorts of interesting salad greens are going to make this year's seed list. My New Year's Wish is for everyone to have access to bountiful, abundant, organic gardens (and seeds!) and food that is full of vibrant health-giving nutrients!
